Where Olomouc's buildings are likely to waste the most energy
Every building in the city, coloured by its most probable energy class, or by the median of its modelled energy performance. Click a building to see the evidence: the Street View facade and the orthophoto with the camera's field of view.
Buildings: RÚIAN (ČÚZK), footprints · Posterior: Slovenia-trained model in Czech methodology definitions (fussade) — demo values in this prototype · Basemap © OpenFreeMap, © OpenMapTiles, © OpenStreetMap contributors · Orthophoto © ČÚZK · Street View © Google, loaded on click.
How the two methodologies were linked
A Slovenian certificate and a Czech one do not measure the same thing: a different reference floor area, a local climate against one reference year, other ventilation and temperature assumptions, other hot-water and lighting defaults, and a different rule for a heat pump's ambient heat. Before training, every Slovenian certificate value was re-expressed in the Czech definitions from the two methodology texts alone: PURES 2010 with TSG-1-004 and TSG-2022 on one side, vyhláška 264/2020 with ČSN 73 0331-1 on the other. Below, that chain for the median building of a chosen kind and era. Pick one and hover a step.
Medians of the Slovenian register per group, passed through the same code that built the training targets (fussade.transpose). The chain is exact for that median building; per building the factors depend on era, kind and the building's own system efficiency.
How good is the model, and where does it come from
Trained on the Slovenian energy-certificate register only, on cadastral attributes every Czech building also has: year, storeys, footprint, construction, use, climate. Its targets were re-expressed in Czech definitions from the two national methodologies alone; how that is done is shown below. What it outputs is a posterior distribution per building, not a number. Below, that posterior against the certificate value on Slovenian buildings the model never saw in training: each column is the stacked posterior of every building whose certificate falls in that band, so a column reads as p(prediction | certificate value). The dashed line is perfect agreement. Hover for the numbers.
